Damien Fahey MTV Host - Total Request Live As a Communications Major at Bostons Northeastern University, Damien Fahey performed as an on-air personality at the number one rated station in Boston, Kiss 108fm. Damien heard of a nationwide casting search for MTVs next VJ in February of 2002. Ever challenging his creative abilities Damien decided his seven years of on air radio experience and love of music would be well matched with MTV. After careful consideration and planning on the part of television executives, MTV found Damiens wealth of musical knowledge and extraordinary personality a perfect fit for what has been the flagship show of the network, TRL (Total Request Live). In addition, after a mere six-months, Damien has secured his own show called, Video Clash. Damien Fahey was met with many challenges when he first started on MTVs Summer 2002 Shore Thing. Upon only two weeks of being a correspondent to TRL, MTV was confident enough in Damiens ability to go it alone and host the show by himself. The shows were a success and highly praised by executive programmers, producers and fans who tuned in on a regular basis. Damien Fahey has since added his unique style and sense of humor to the highly popular TRL, as well as MTVs specials including, Countdown to the 2002 VMAs, End of Summer Countdown, and MTVs New Years Eve Pajama Party. He has also interviewed a diverse range of celebrity talent including, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, 50 Cent, Matthew McConaughey and Shakira. While being raised by educators in Western Massachusetts, Damien Fahey knew from early on that he wanted to be heard. At the age of twelve, Damien managed to empty his entire savings account to purchase stereo equipment for his makeshift radio station that he was building in his room. After practice on his own and at the age of fourteen he was granted an internship at a local radio station. Within a few months Damien Fahey was given a part-time job as a weekend personality while still managing four years of high school. Damiens relentless passion for developing a life long career was met with an opportunity to advance eighty radio markets to Kiss 108fm as he left for college in Boston in the fall of 1999. Damiens highly motivated ambitions coupled with an intense creative background, have brought him to a level of success that is highly admired and respected by his contemporaries.

Ferguson Ferguson America's Youngest Nationally Syndicated Talk Show Host With his new book "It's My America Too", Ben Ferguson, the voice of America's youth and the host of The Ben Ferguson Show, one of the country's fastest-growing syndicated radio shows, delivers his views on all the issues, from politics to current affairs to popular culture. Everyone wants to know what Ferguson will say next -- and here's your chance. Ben Ferguson is a conservative who is also an independent thinker unafraid to take contrary positions. In It's My America Too, the twenty-two-year-old media star shoots from the hip and the lip on numerous topics. Ferguson tells us why he thinks the voting age should be lowered to sixteen; who the "New Minority" is -- the twenty-something men and women who are overworked, underpaid, overmarketed, and drastically underrepresented; why politicians talk about and at young adults, but never to them; how he feels about everything from homeschooling to sex, NASCAR, and George W. Bush; and much more. Ferguson's message is clear. He is not on a campaign to reform liberals and turn them into right-wing Republicans. He is presenting his views on American society and challenging those who do not agree with him to an open debate. Some will not agree with his political and religious views. What he hopes to accomplish, with both his radio show and this book, is to energize future generations about politics. The way to do this is through open communication. He is encouraging his generation (and even some in previous generations) to get involved and be heard. Hip and forthright, funny yet never pedantic, Ferguson offers a fresh viewpoint and insights on topics such as "What the Republican Party can learn from Bill Clinton"; "Why anti-Americanism is our problem"; and "Dubya: my favorite redneck." He reveals a positive outlook on the economy, offers his opinions on bias in the media, and also includes chapters on Donald Rumsfeld, affirmative action, and the values instilled in him by his mother and father. Ferguson's pride in his country, in his religious beliefs, and in his choices reflects his vision of the American dream. He is informed and determined to make a difference. Youthful as he is, he has a unique perspective not only on America and its history, but also on current events and issues. You may applaud his opinions or perhaps you will disagree with them. But for those of you who are angered by this book, Ferguson instructs: "Don't just get mad. Do something about it."

Alina Fernandez Daughter of Fidel Castro As a little girl in Cuba, Alina Fernandez found nothing strange about the many visits Fidel Castro made to her home. During these visits, Castro would pay special attention to Alina, many times even bringing her gifts. At age ten, Alina's mother finally divulged the reason for Castro's attention: Fidel Castro was her father. Born in 1956, Alina was a child in the years just before and immediately following the Revolution of 1959. As the Revolution's events unfolded, Alina came to realize that, depending on his mood, Castro treated his illegitimate daughter with one of two extreme feelings--utter adoration or painful neglect. Through the years, however, Castro's influence as an authority figure in Alina's life never diminished. As she grew older, she recognized her position as one of Cuba's elite--but the political practices she witnessed under her father's regime and the neglect she experienced drove her to renounce that position and, ultimately, her relationship with her father as well. Alina Fernandez was finally forced to leave her homeland and to seek refuge in the United States. In 1998 St. Martin's Press published her story, Castro's Daughter: An Exile's Memoir of Cuba. In her lecture, Alina shares the extraordinary story of her experiences growing up in the shadow of Fidel Castro. Alina Fernandez is a former model and public relations director for a Cuban fashion company. She has not spoken with her father, Fidel Castro, in over a decade. After escaping to Spain she eventually moved to Miami where she currently hosts a daily radio program on Cuban and Cuban-American issues.

Lupe Fiasco Hip-hop music, once a platform for creative expression and friendly competition, has, sadly, become a popularity contest. With record sales down and ringtone dollars up, rookies searching for that "one big hit" seem solely concerned with being deemed "cool." Lyrics have side-stepped, giving way to dance-instructing "rappers" more concerned with sparking the new "Macarena" than being hailed as an MC. On the outside looking in at such followers is Lupe Fiasco. Rather than conform to music industry standards, Fiasco (born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco) has trail-blazed his own path to critical acclaim. Possessing head-spinning wordplay and a topical range more akin to the underground than the mainstream, the 25-year-old lyricist has proven that talent can still make waves in the rap gam e. Born and raised in the seedy, confrontational West side of Chicago, Illinois, Fiasco grew up like the regular urban survivor. What wasn't common, however, was the means by which he carried himself. Comic books and literature of all genres cluttered his bedroom floor, and a skateboard replaced your typical drop-top Cadillac. Influenced by the Californian gangsta rap of artists such as Spice 1 and Ice Cube, Fiasco gradually grew leery of such negative messages, gravitating toward the dazzling lyricism of the likes of Nas and Jay-Z. In 2004, Fiasco signed with Atlantic Records - even launching his own company, 1st & 15th Entertainment - and began recording his debut, Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. Fiasco's first major look came on fellow Chi-town native Kanye West's hit single, "Touch The Sky," where Fiasco delivered a show-stopping verse. The buzz gained from that song transitioned the gumshoe rapper into his first official solo single, the skateboard-meets-rap gem "Kick Push." Inspired by his own quirky hobby, Fiasco delivered a metaphorical tale of uplift through the eyes of a thrashing, four-small-wheel riding skater boy.

Ben Folds Ben Folds Five put on a high-energy, blistering live show. The band was signed to the independent Caroline Records shortly afterward, resulting in their self-titled debut one year later. Due to airings of their humorous anthem, "Underground" (which poked fun at the politics of the punk/alternative scene) on MTV's 120 Minutes) and constant touring, quite a buzz was stirring for the band by the time of their second album. Released in 1997, Whatever and Ever Amen was pure pop perfection -- easily one of the year's best releases, and perhaps the best power pop release of the '90s. The band's songwriting and sound had improved even further, as evidenced by such gems as "One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces," "Fair," "Kate," and "Battle of Who Could Care Less," plus their whimsical tribute to breakups, "Song for the Dumped." But it was the ballad "Brick" that broke the band commercially -- unlike the majority of their material that was upbeat, the song contained melancholic music and vocals, as the lyrics told the story of a teenaged couple who decides to get an abortion (it has been speculated that the tale was autobiographical for Folds). The single didn't hit until several months after the album was released, which meant that the band stayed on the road for well over a year, playing with such notables as Dave Matthews, Beck, and as part of the H.O.R.D.E. 1997 festival -- earning Whatever platinum status. While 1998 didn't see a new studio album by the band, BF5's former label issued a 16-track rarities collection (Naked Baby Photos), as Folds released his first solo album, Volume 1, under the pseudonym Fear of Pop. Although the album went largely unnoticed, it included the song "In Love," which included overly dramatic vocals from none other than Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner (comparable in approach to Shatner's must-hear 1968 album, The Transformed Man) -- which was performed on The Conan O'Brien show shortly after the album's release. Ben Folds Five regrouped with 1999' s The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner, which was a more mature work than its predecessors, although the energetic lead-off single, "Army," showed that Folds' humorous approach hadn't dulled at all. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide

Chris Fonseca To be a first in Hollywood is not an easy task, but comedian Chris Fonseca has earned that title. He is the first (and only) person with a visible disability to entertain on The Late Night Show with David Letterman, something that had not been done in the show’s 18 year history. Chris allows his Cerebral Palsy to be the foundation of many of his stories. He notes that this helps to break down many preconceived barriers about CP. For fifteen years now he has had collegiate, corporate and association audiences rolling with him in the aisles. Chris was already on his way up as he was asked to become part of the award winning PBS production, Look Who’s Laughing. This show became a break-through production as it became the first comedy special featuring those with disability. He has also be featured as an entertainer on The American Comedy Awards, a presenter at The Presidents Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities Conference, and a featured comedian at The Montreal Comedy Festival. Each year he is the star performer of the San Antonio Latino Laugh Festival where he plays to sold-out crowds of 20,000. He currently is a headliner at the newly formed Los Angeles Latino Comedy Festival. For over a decade, Chris has become a veteran performer turning his physical disability into a positive visual image. He has won the praise of Presidents Clinton and Carter and was invited to entertain on the ABC Special, An Evening of Hope-Christopher Reeve. Chris’ career has been highlighted by many appearances on Evening at the Improv, Comedy on the Road, Entertainment Tonight and has been featured in USA Today, The Los Angeles Times, and Daily Variety. He also had a co-starring guest role on a Media Access Award winning episode of Baywatch. Although touring over 200 nights a year, he still finds time to share with his two beautiful daughters.

Karith Foster By the age of 4, Karith Foster knew exactly what she wanted to do with her life. I distinctly remember watching Sesame Street and thinking, I should be doing that! Though she never got to fulfill her dream of sitting on a fake brick wall shooting the sh*t with multicolored Muppets, today she is fulfilling her dream of entertaining audiences around the world in the hopes of leaving them with a universal message or twolike we really are all the same underneath but sometimes one of these things is not like the other; and not only is it okay to acknowledge, but a must, to make fun of. Because ALL is fair in love and comedy. Raised in Plano, Texas the affluent suburb north of Dallas with the ethnic diversity of a Klan rally Karith indulged her performing bug by starring in her high schools ALL WHITE production of A Raisin in the Sun. She currently resides in New York City where everyday she learns something new like just because she blends into her Harlem neighborhood it is not cool to walk into a bodega a little Spanish grocery store and say Que pasa yall?!! Since her stint in NYC, shes been nicknamed Princess by several friends and acquaintances who are convinced shes actually a Jewish girl from Long Island trapped in that bodywhich would technically make her a JAAP (Jewish African-American Princess). So in her case its not talk to the hand, but talk to the manicure. And although she may never have cooked a full meal in her life, she knows how to use a Zagats Restaurant Guide like nobodys business. Karith performs weekly at a variety of NYC comedy clubs including The Boston Comedy Club, The Comic Strip, Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, and Stand up New York Comedy Club just check her schedule to see when and where shes going up or to see if shell be in a town near you. Leslie Lee Francis Granddaugher of Pulitzer Prize wining poet, Robert Frost and author of The Frost Family’s Adventure in Poetry.
Pete Francis Pete Francis, an experienced musician, honed his skills and technique as a key member (vocals, guitar, bass) of the band Dispatch, which in the 1990s grew from northeast college phenomenon to national grassroots attraction, touring widely and selling out shows from New York Citys Roseland Ballroom to San Franciscos Filmore West. An adventurer and searcher, this singer songwriter / guitarist / vocalist covers considerable ground in his narratives from the year he spent studying the great poets in Ireland (Burning the River) of the album Untold. I was interested in making an actual album with songs that relate to each other and have fluidity from track to track, he says. In that spirit, Burning the River is a song about Franciss own process of discovery, inspired by his journey to Galway, Ireland. After a rocky first day with his hosts wife deciding she didnt want a houseguest after all Francis managed to stay on to study poetry and absorb the Irish way of life. There was great a bookstore there, with a room full of poetry, he says. And at night Id hang out in pubs where people were speaking Gaelic. Theyd close the doors after hours and play music squeezebox, fiddle and guitar. Everyone would sit in a circle and people would start dancing. Then they d pass the fiddle into the crowd and someone else would start playing. It was amazing.
Pablo Francisco When Pablo Francisco unleashes his creative combustion his audience is jolted into boisterous laughter and applause. It is not uncommon to sense the anticipation of Pablo's audience as his fans await their favorite impressions. Those who experience Pablo's show for the first time find themselves captivated by his brilliant off-the-wall sound effects and uniquely animated delivery. His natural ability to create vividly funny living pictures that focus on family and relationships give Pablo's show a universal appeal. His hilarious spoofing of those intensely melodramatic Spanish language soap operas on Telemundo, and his narration of the action-movie preview with Arnold Schwarzenegger as a tortilla vendor brings huge laughs coast to coast. Pablo has become an international sensation selling out numerous shows overseas where English is the second language. This gifted performer continues to thrive on the unpredictability of stand up comedy, continually weaving new material throughout his show. Pablo was inspired by the comedy sets he watched on Carson and Letterman at the impressionable age of 13. Armed with a VCR his dad bought, Francisco started taping every comedy set possible. By the age of 17, the young Tucson native took his first step on the path to success. It was clear that comedy had become an irresistible inspiration, and Pablo was up for the challenge of his first open mic night. It wasn't long before the Improv discovered his undeniable talent. Now the 30 something L.A. resident, is living his passion with guest appearances on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Starred in his own Comedy Central Presents special which is consistently in the top 5 most requested, FOX's animated feature "The Family Guy," Showtime's "Full Frontal Comedy," Comedy Central's "Short Attention Span Theater" and "Make Me Laugh. Francisco was a cast member on the Fox Network's sketch comedy show "Mad TV" and has performed at the "Montreal Comedy Festival." Pablo was nominated Comedian Of The Year by the American Comedy Awards and starred in national commercials for Coke and City Bank with Elton John. Watch for Pablo as the movie reviewer on David Spade's new Comedy Central show entitled "The Show Biz Show." Recently Pablo did a hilarious appearance as the Movie Guy on Comedy Centrals Mind Of Mencia and is currently touring the country. Pablo can be seen regularly as the host of Latino Laugh Festival: "The Show" on SiTV seen by over seven million people.

Joe Frazier The son of a South Carolina sharecropper, Joe Frazier became a boxer by accident. He first went to a gym to work himself into shape. Shortly after, he began fighting competitively and became one of the best amateur heavyweights in the nation. He didn’t lose until he ran into Buster Mathis, who beat him in the 1964 Olympic trials. But, Mathis suffered a hand injury and Frazier replaced him at the Summer Games in Tokyo and came home with a gold medal. Joe Frazier turned pro under the guidance of Yank Durham in 1965 and ran off 11 straight wins until he ran into tough guy Oscar Bonavena, in September 1966. The Argentine dropped Frazier twice in one round, but Smokin’ Joe came off the deckk–showing the Madison Square Garden crowd the heart and character that would mark his career–to win a 10-round unanimous decision.
